Super Snorpan 12x12 scrapbook, mixed media & Maggie Holmes

When I got my stuff from Sirap i Paris I couldn't wait to start playing with them. I posted a layout I did using the "Cool Kid" sticker so now I knew I wanted to use the Maggie Holmes "Gather" stickers! If you ever just going to get one thing from a line, I would suggest the stickers. You get allot for you money and they last a long time! (Well not for me but that is another story...)

On this page I started with the background sticking down old label stickers from Sn@p and the 3 layers of white paint (my gesso was in my studio and I was just lazy...) I then dug out my distress inks in "Tattered Rose" and "Spun Suger" and speared them on. The last thing I did was adding a chunky embossing powder ("Aged Gold" by Stampendous) in the grooves of the labels.
The colors was inspired by this frame from the "Hello Love" by Crate Paper and yes, I have been hording it. How ever I think this is the perfect place for it, on a page about my favorite Aunt. I have a hard time scrap'n about events and peoples but it is something I'm working on.
I wrote about how much she means to me and why. How I can always count on her and that I look up to her and hope that some of her adventurousness rubs of on me.
I am so happy with how the background turned out, it was such long time ago I played with mixed media and I didn't reseal just how much I had missed it!

The texture, the colors (that blue!!) and the amazing Super Snorpan makes this layout to my favorite from September!

Don't let it take over- Scrapbook therapy

I like to think that I'm a strong person, one that despite of pain lives her life. Truth is that this is more of a goal then a reality. The last few weeks the pains has come more often and stronger making everyday a challenge. How ever it shall never be said that Julia never tried! So I tell myself when the pain comes; Don't let it take over.

In this case scrapbooking really helps, I use it as a form of journal i think. I have made many pages about myself and the struggles that is with living with constant pain. I like that I can write down and show how I feel, all of these pages will one day become an album hopefully with a happy ending.

On this page i wanted it to have a strong message, showing my frustration (ROAR) and still something to show me that I don't let it take over, So I used stickers from the Cool Kid and Gather by Crate Paper to get the contrast I wanted,
I like these colors together, it's calm but the Cool Kid words adds that energy I wanted.

Cute Indeed 12x12 Scrapbook using Felicity Jane

Sometimes you just have to sit down and play! The other day I had one of those days and I had so much fun, nor even noticing that the camera died...

I was inspired my some really awesome youtube-ladies; Suse & Adele and I had just had so much fun. I did Adele's heart thing and some tight layers around the photo à la Suse
The hearts are from a scrap paper but the layers, stamps and confetti pocket is from Felicity Jane. I just love that the kits comes with "finishing details". The small things to finish off a page.

I do love my black, it really helps to add contrast and interest to a page. Here I have used some foam thinkers from Amy Tangerine "Grace" , love that they come not just with words but with some cute details like hearts and swirly thingis.

Haul: Scrapbook.com -july 2016 + Heidi Swapp Texturepaste & stencils review

About 2 weeks ago I made an order at scrapbook.com, you know just the "must haves" like trimmer blades and gold Heidi Shine... But I also wanted to try the texture paste so I got the gold (surprise!) and a set of two stencils.

Shoppinglist (the must-haves):
Trimmerblades
Tim Holtz "Small Talk"
Heidi Swapp Color Shine "Gold"
Heidi Swapp texture paste "Gold"
Heidi Swapp Stencils "dots"
Well I just had to try the paste and stencils right away!
So here is my thoughts:

The paste is amazing! It truly is gold-like, easy to work with and drys rather quickly. The only thing is the tub, not being able to put the paste back if you get too much. All in all 4,5 and I want more colors! The black and the teal are on my wishlist.
The stencils are of good quality, sturdy and thick. You get a nice and sharp look but I would have liked the material to be  easier to clean of. Also these I'll giva a 4,5.

lfe Hello Beautiful kit: så charmig

November is slowly, oh so slowly, coming to an end. That means it´s time for a new Like For Ever Kit, how ever I have decided to skip this month. I hardly ever scrapbook Christmas except December Daily and that I have put together.
So... I will keep using the "Hello Beautiful" kit and here is another layout:
The background is  a result of some mixed media play and I love the light colors whit the photo.
I´m so happy with how the ink drops turned out. They add that fun unexpected element and adds contrast!
 Hello Beautiful!
 So Charming...
The Maggie Holmes phrase stamp is so fun! here I just stamped the phrases on a tag.

August kit layout 3- Eton

Hello everyone!                                                                        *Here is the video!*
I´m back with another layout made from my august-scrap-kit.
I´m going to be really honest with you now: I love Prima stuff but this paper I really, really don´t like! I like the idea if it, mixed media-ish with doily and ink splatters, but it just looks like a hot mess (so those the other papers in this collection too) And now you think: But if you don´t like it why do you have it, and use it?. Well I got the paper in one of those "mystery bags" and I´m going to use it because I love a challenge!

So I started with my photo (the photo is not that good, dark and bleary so it looks like he only has three legs, oh my) Then I took out scraps from the kit and that was laying around, started to add layers. Now like I said before I´m not crazy over the mixed media feel because I think it looks like a mess but I decided to embrace it!

Adding black to contrast and interest one of my favorite "tools", no matter how bad it is, adding black works 9 out of 10 times. Like the stamp, so easy to build a pattered! (from Prima, Optimist collection)

I just though to mention something that I do really like sens I was a bit negative in the beginning. And that is this stamp set. I got it to a good prize and it so versatile, I´ve used it on all of the layouts and I know I will continue to use it allot in the future. Stamps really are investments.
In my video I shoe you how you can make this super simple mixed media look with just washi-tape and some stamps. I know there is allot of people that are a bit afraid of the hole mixed media and if you are, starting with just a border with washi-tape and some stamps might be perfect for you...

Now when I look at this layout I don´t hate it, but nether do I love it.  I think it´s a really good layout where I really had to think about it and solve a problem. Would I do the this layout the same way if I got the same paper and photo? I think not, but I enjoyed making it and in the end I had a good time. I said before that I don´t make layouts in first hand to remember a moment. I scrapbook because I love the mix of paper, paint and photos, if I then later have albums filled with memories that is a amazing bonus.

August kit-layout 2: Kerstin on walk

Hello!

I´m back with a new layout using my august-scrap-kit! This layout was inspired by a spread in a magazine, the pastel colors with the black

The kit was put together with a vintage and shabby chic feel in mind but picking put some colors and going with a white cardstock can change everything!

              Here is the video!

So light yellow, blue and pink with black accents. I used a stamp from the optimist stamp collection from Prima to stamp a border around the edge. The paper-layers are put around the photo in like a T-shape to help draw the eye.
I used the same blue glitter-letters from the previous layout together with my dymo and black letter. The resins are from a mod pogde  resin mold, painted with white paint and distress ink.
I just couldn´t stay away from the black lace washi-tape but it just works with everything!

I hope you like the layout and don´t forget to check out the video: HERE

Cheval- mixed media

*New Video*

Hello. I hope you are having a great weekend! Here in Sweden we have had such good weather that I´m almost chocked! I have been sitting outside drawing under our pavilion-tent-thing.

But today I have a new video to share with you, the topic: Use-up-scraps!
After finishing my latest mini album I had allot of tiny scrap-pieces that I wanted to use. In normal case I would trough those away but sens I´m on a mission, I really wanted to see just what I could make with them. And here is what happened:

I really like how this turned out with all of the hard-wear and the colors. I really like the colors.
And if you want to see how it came together:  Look HERE

The bloom-girl Joy part 1

Hello all lovely people!

Today I have 2 pieces to show you! The first one is a art-journal page and the other is a card. Kristinas scrapbooking is selling out the Bloom-Girl stamps and sens I was going to pick up a few new distress marker I saw my chance to get my hands on one of them! I pick Joy, she is just so beautiful!

So in normal order I just had to play with her and my new markers ("seedless perserves", "ripe persimmon", "squeezed lemonade" & "mustard seed") So I thought I would show you what I did!

So starting with the art-journal page:
I wanted a really fun page with allot of colors and a water color feel
Skin & hair: "tea dye" & "walnut stain". Eyes: "peacock feathers" Flowers: "ripe persimmon" Berries: "seedless preserves" Leafs: "peeled paint" In the centers of the flower I painted with gold

The background is distress markers, white paint, gold paint and chunky embossing powder.
On all of the berries and the purple heart, I went over them with a glittery nailpolish.
The title is partly hand written and partly is from Rhonna design

Svea- The Queen

*new video HERE*

Hello everyone! Today I have a layout to show you and just so you know; I love It!
The reason you why you can feel surprise in my voice is because I used a sketch and I normally have a hard time with them, so you can understand how happy I am now when it look so good! The sketch I was inspired by was Primas- BAP (Build-A-Page)

I grabbed my Prima papers, bling and leafs, put on some music and just had a really good time with inks and allot of paint.

And as you all now I´m on a mission to use up my scraps, all the papers are Prima but from 3 different collections; "Romance Novel" (the only 12*12) the rest is scraps from: "Sea Shore" and "Time Travelers memories" .
I´m so happy with this black flowers with the gold edge, even the leafs got a slab of gold on them
The layers behind the photo is packaging from different collections, I have to say that I love that Prima makes such cute packaging so you can use it and don´t just through it away.
Here she is, The Queen, on the windowsill. I took this photo a while back but she is always sitting on the windowsill, odd cat.
The "Time travelers memories"- bling fits perfect!

I hope you like it and if you want to see how I put this together check out this video: *HERE*
