lfe kit; Twenty sixteen

twenty sixteen
It's a new year and new possibility and stuff. But today, let's talk about the new kit by Likeforever.
So when I had received my kit I look through it and started to make a sort of mental plan of what papers and embellishments I could use with  what photo. I started with a photo from autumn 2014 of baby W.
The photo is matted on washi tape and I sprayed the hexagons from the Heidi Swapp ephemera pack with Heidi-Shine is Teal and Navy. I did the same for the title that is of thickers with fabric on top.  I did my journaling on my typewriter and added silver glitter leafs. These are cut out using dies from Maggie Holmes and Lawn Fawn.

I know I have made allot of pages of W but looking back I felt that too many of them didn't have a story. Here I write about how and why I love her. One of the reasons being is the she often sleeps next to my desk, like she is doing now. Just wanting to be near and for that small thing I love her.
So far so well but on late night I was sitting looking at the stuff (just like any normal scrapbooker does) and I thought of how this wasn´t me and how I could never make it look good... Let's say I shouldn´t be making decisions late at night...
And just like that I had cut up all of the papers and made a "junk-journal"

I do really like how it looks the papers are so fun, I think I could have made many pretty layout... But It's done and even though I have no idea for what to use it for I like it... C'est la vie

lfe kit: Hello beautiful- På Väg

I have said before that Maggie Holmes new collection, "Shine", wasn´t my favorite... Well it still isn´t but one thing I do really like about it is that she has navy in her colors. So on this layout I wanted to focus on that color, Navy and then the blues and the black & white patterns.

I knew I wanted allot of patterens so I started whit cutting them into about 12x2" strips. These I layered on the right side, leaving allot of white space on the left side. Depending on the papers this design could be a bit heavy, but using light colors and the b&w patters keeps that light feel.
I matted my photo on navy paper, a doily and than on a big tag. This tag just happened to still be on my desk after I had tried out the Heidi-shine in "Navy", and I thought it was perfect! I also used this mist for the blue splatters.
Blue, white and black can be cold so for my title I used the "campfire" thickers too add some wood, also a wood heart and a little die-cut whit gold words.

The stripes are sewn down, adding some extra texture and the roller phrase stamp is stamped around the page. On the whole I really like how the page came out, how well it works whit my photo and still have meaningful story, about being on our way...

lfe Hello Beautiful kit: så charmig

November is slowly, oh so slowly, coming to an end. That means it´s time for a new Like For Ever Kit, how ever I have decided to skip this month. I hardly ever scrapbook Christmas except December Daily and that I have put together.
So... I will keep using the "Hello Beautiful" kit and here is another layout:
The background is  a result of some mixed media play and I love the light colors whit the photo.
I´m so happy with how the ink drops turned out. They add that fun unexpected element and adds contrast!
 Hello Beautiful!
 So Charming...
The Maggie Holmes phrase stamp is so fun! here I just stamped the phrases on a tag.

lfe Hello Beautiful kit: project life week 46

I don´t very often add news things in my PL but I couldn´t leave out what happened in Paris last week. Paris for me is a dream, France is a dream and what happen there was a nightmare. But I wanted to have it in my album, hidden. The sn@p pockets are perfect and this way it´s there but it´s not the first thing you´ll see.
Love from all over the world to Paris
I have to say it was a bit hard to focus on the good things for this week after Paris but here are 2: Majken did so well on our trick training and I reached 15% fluently in french!

Lfe kit: Hello Beautiful- beautiful

Following a sketch is, for me. so hard! The story behind this layout is that I started whit it late one night, stopped to be able to record the process to day after. So I took a photo of the layout to glue it all down later... Oh good grief,  my head was like, "but put it here", "try it here" "why not some paint?!" I had to keep remind myself that the work is DONE! just glue it down...
The day after, in daylight, I started whit some blue mist for the background, and the mat it on craft. Here it´so clear how hard my brain had whit this, did I trim the background? No! I always to this, but I just couldn´t think straight...

But my brain did think; " I LOVE a pink tassel!
...and copper-glitter leafs. I love those!"
After having added the journaling my thought process started to come back and I finished it whit some gold "Heidi Shine"
In the end I´m so happy whit how it turned out and I´m so glad I didn´t change it.

lfe kit: Hello Beautiful: Darling

So here we have the Like For Ever kit for November,
the main is Maggie Holmes new line; "Shine". That is, the papers (12 sheets), the stickers, alpha stickers and a roller phrase stamp. In the kit is also a big wood word from Heidi Swapp vellum pockets from Amy Tangerin and 2 rolls of grey washi from Pebbles.

Now, honestly I have made a few layouts whit this kit but I found it very challenging. There is no embellishments here more the the sticker sheet and the word. Now I  don´t think its a bad idea to "dip into" your stash but when buying a kit I sort of want that kit to be enough...  I had wished that there had been something more dimensional rather then plasticy washi... I don´t know maybe I´m just really cranky but I´m going to work whit this kit, just going to use more from my stash then last month!
Is now the time to say that "Shine" is not my new favorite line? to soon?

For the first layout I cut it down to an A4 from this sort of starry +-sign pattern. I do love that they had a navy paper ( I would have loved a pretty floral) So I matted the photo on the navy, the back side, the striped, a doily and the backside of the + pattern.
I love navy, I also love lilac so I decided to add both here, tassels, a Magnolia butterfly and some mist-splatter
I have a rather big stack of tassels, don´t judge. I make them super easy from embroidery yarn and some gold string. The journaling here I felt would be lost on this black&white paper so I wrote it in a shipping tag, added some "black tie" twine from Lawn Fawn
The phrase stamp (best part  of the kit) I added in the background, making the phrases part of the design. I also added some of the washi behind the photo, as layers. I have a hard time to use washi and this glossy, plasticy is not my favorite. But I will use them!

Acorn Avenue kit: Happy Girl+ Tacksam

I love watercolors. that is a fact. For you how didn´t know I paint... allot and watercolors are my favorite medium. Sorry oil tubes that are hidden away. So on this day I just wanted to play whit them on a layout.

I won´t wright to much about this page, as you most likely have seen the video but I can just say that adding those black ink-drops really made the page come to live- contrast!!

This layout turned out to be one of my favorites and of course I didn´t record it... But I can still show it to you. I started whit a painted craft cardstock, I have few ready to go, painting many in one sitting. Here I have one in sort of a midnight blue and I really wanted to work whit that feel.
Splattering some "Heidi shine" in gold makes the "stars" and the banners are from the layout before but here I stitched them in to 3 banners to drape on the page. The journaling are typed in my typewriter and cut in to strips. This way the journaling is easy to read but doesn´t feel heavy.
I love this blue background whit the purple color and layering it under my photo makes it really pop. I´m just so happy whit how this turned out, so fun!

Acorn Avenue kit: Rally

Do you use colored cardstock? I have a really hard time using anything other then white or craft. In this kit we get two cardstock sheets, one black (great for photo matting) and one pale blue...

So what to do, I decided to work whit it and use it for a background. The color was very pale and I wanted it to be clear to any one looking at it that it was in fact blue. Pallet knife + white paint = textured background.
What I wanted whit this layout was to tell about how fun we have training rally. I picked my favorite colors, purple and blue and then glitter! I love the "stitched leaves die" from Lawn Fawn on glitter paper, so pretty. Here I´ve purple glitter paper, the blue glitter thickers and a glittered tag.

I know I have said it before but those arrows are too cute! And those clear word stickers, so perfect for adding on photos!
This layout is fun, random, sort of thought through and a bit crazy, just like Wiola and I. Love that you can capture a feeling on paper

Acorn Avenue kit: You are my favorite +3 A4 layouts

I love scrapbooking from a collection, knowing that its all designed to compliment and work together. I also know that not everyone likes creating like this, feeling that all layouts will come out looking the same and obvious from the same. So here I want to show you a process of how you can turn the colors around to create a different feel from what you might first had thought.

Here are three more A4 layouts (21x29 cm) that are made from the same collection and kit but I think you´ll agree whit me that they all came out looking very different.

The first one here I wanted clean and a strong pattern in the right corner. That dark paper compliments the photo and bring the in the focus.
This layout is really about the story and by wrighting it on the white cardsock not only gives it visual weight but makes is easy to read.
I love me some Heidi-Shine on my dark photos, it really adds that feel of night-time magic.
The second layout is not clean and simple, it´s the opposite... I wanted colors and fun. This is about my oh-so odd pbgv Wiola some how always end up doing odd things, like just like that have a fave covered in moss...?!
But she is really foxy so she got the other fox, to add to that fun play-full feel
 Layer acetate!! so fun
Number 3 in my favorite, here we have some of the black&white and clean look but also that fun colorful energy. I cut out some of those big flower from the paper in the first layout and layered them around the photos and in the bottom right corner.
Can´t get over those arrows! So cute and I don´t have any left, pretty proud over that, no hording!
This layout is about a clicker course that we took this autumn so here I put the start and end-date on the tabs and wrote about it on a manilla tag. I just love how this one came together, but of course just because of that I didn´t record it....
I have loved working whit this kit and I still have a process video and a kill-the-kit/layout share coming up.

Acorn Avenue kit: Lilla Damen

I recently got my very on Big Shot and I just love it!! I had a few dies that I got years ago but the first that I bought was the "Stitched Leaves" from Lawn Fawn. I think they are so pretty and can work year round. So I started cutting them out and decided to use the negative.

I wanted a soft and fresh feel so a white background whit so "tattered rose" and Heidi Shine in gold. I love this colors whit craft very feminine.
I didn´t want allot of embellishments, but let the wow-factor be on the negative leaf piece.
I used that clear tag that I wasn´t to sure about, but so perfect here.
How cute isn´t she? the story here is about just how pretty she always is even though she is chewing on a cut-off deer foot...
