Dare to Dream- mixed media
A new week and a new video! This video (HERE) is about something that we sometimes struggle with; "What do I do now?!" especially when I do mixed media! So I let the camera roll to show you that sometimes it does work out. Sometimes you have to try out different mediums to find what it is that you are looking for.

to YOU!
The other day I found some long lost Prima stamps of two chandeliers. Sense they had been gone for so long I just wanted to stamp them to see how they would work, so I took some scrap-craft paper and stamped... And just like that I had begun a patterned: one up, one down in lines. And you can´t tell that is is chandeliers at the fist glance, just a really cool graphic patterned!
So naturally I wanted to use my new amazing paper and decided to make a card, sens it´s been so long. So with two papers from My Mind´s Eye- Portobello Road, a doily, some washi-tape and Lindy´s stamp gang- Moon shadow ink in "Smoky Sapphire" I got started!
All of the pearls and stones are from Magnolias; "Knick Knackery´s. I love how they look on this simple card and mixed together.
The butterflies are stamps from Prima and Panduro and are embossed with Magnolia´s Black- fine embossing powder. They are stamped on the same paper as the mat to the chandelier- paper and the Magnolia label. This brings in the black, witch add some contrast, and the dark teal color that is so pretty!
The roses, the patterned paper and details on Tilda is painted with "Smoky Sapphire" it´s such a pretty ink there is taupe and when light hits it: it´s the most amazing light-blue lilac. Tilda her self is colored with distress marker in "Pumice stone".

Let Them Eat Cake- layout
Good morning!
Today I have a layout from my cuisines 7th birthday.
The layout is made only with papers and cut-outs from "All That Is Spring" and some hot pink twain.
And a doily, but everything else is from the collection.
I wanted to add some demention in this very flat layout so I tore the paper and then sawed it together.

Blue Eyed Girl- layout
Happy Monday! Today I have a new layout to show you that I really like!
I used allot of scraps from Graphic 45 and some new papers from Prima- Time Traveler but the background is Basic Grey.
This lady I have saved for year and finely I cut her out and put her on a layout, and I´m so happy that I did that. And sense I´m so in love with here I gave her some Prima-bling on here skirt.
More Prima-bling with cut outs from Prima and Graphic 45 with some washitape.
The title: "Blue eyed girl" in Panduro letters and of course my true love: Dymo.

This layout has allot of layers but isn´t very dimensional. I tryed out some new things; Cuting out the photo, working on a smaller area and not using flower! The last one was hard but I found the Rose-paper in the Time traveler pad!
I hope you like it

The shabby chic Cottage
Here is my latest project: The Cottage!
Let´s get right to it: I started with this wood-scraps that I took from my dad. This are really thin and I could just break them up.
Then it´s just to start gluing... I wanted a long- thin house and then I put two pieces at the bottom and one on the back- so I can glue flowers in it later.
When the house is put together I painted it in white gesso. Then on the house I painted with crackle medium and the roof is pearl-paint mixed with distress inks. After 4 hours I could paint the rest of the house (the crackle medium needs to rest for about 4h) with a light dove-blue color.
But I couldn´t leave the roof for long so I put on pearled-micas and white glitter. Than over the door I put a metal corner.
And just like that: The house is finished! I took an old paint brush that had an accident with glitter-glue... and now it´s a flagpole with a blinged-out flag.
The clockhead is from Maya Road that I jus put some pearls and stones on.
A fence made out of flower-sticks and string.
The chain is arranged in a pocket-watch fashion. And the house is surrounded with flowers and Prima bling swirls. All the flowers are brushed with Chrystal stickels.

Midsummer!
It´s finally here! Midsummer´s Eve. Here in Sweden it´s a big deal and it´s party all day long with strawberry cake and dancing. And of course the mandatory flower-reef on our heads. This I know can sound odd, but here in Sweden it´s really a celebration to the sun (it´s the longest day and it´s only dark a few hours today!) And sense we here in the north don´t have that many sun-hours we celebrate it! Allot of flowers and singing... It also almost always rain on this day witch is kind of ironic...
So for all of you how aren´t in Sweden here is a little piece from me to you so you to can feel the midsummer feeling

Use Up Scraps
I have a drawer in my desk that is filled with scrap-paper. I get anxiety only by thinking of it and I haven´t opened it in like... forever. But the other day I decided to make something out of all scrap-pieces.
So taking on my "Big Girl Pants" I jumped in and took out a pill of papers. I wanted to have the same size so I went with 10*15 cm (6*4 inches) because I have photo-pockets that size. I just went with it without thinking too much, just gluing it down.
The first one I keep simple with allot of elements cut out of Graphic 45 papers.
On this tag I found a photo of a girl I had drawn a few year back and cut her out and around her a allot of book-mark flowers.
number 3 is a mix of Prima and Graphic 45 papers with some vintage musicsheet.
My favorite is no 4 with K&Company paper and Prima packaging. The focal point is Graphic 45 cut outs but there is some Panduro and My Minds Eye papers to in there.
No 5 has it´s own video and here we can talk about layers. papers from Graphic 45, Magnolia, DCWV & My Minds Eye. You can see how I put this together from cutting up the papers to cover the lamp with glossy accents.

I hope this gave you some inspiration to get started with your scrap. Now when I don´t know what to do I get start on a new tag with the papers laying on my desk or taking up some from the drawer. I feel better knowing that I use the papers even though the tags might not be the best looking ever...

Summer-Book
Hello and happy summer!
This week my brother and sister went on their summer break and as the nice sister that I am I thought I would give them a gift.
I wanted to give them something that they can work with and remember their summer. So I thought that a journal would be perfect, they can put photos in, journal, draw and well what ever really. (Here you can see me working on mine...)
So I got 3 book, (I think they are 7*7), 3 sheets of letter, brads and allot of papers from my stack.
I´t took some time to put them together and I´m just now finishing my book so that I´m on time. My brother and sisters books comes with a little package witch has, double-sided tape, brads that match the letter and pearls & bling.
I have a video up so you can see more of the books and I think I will make a video so you can see how I´ve made mine.
The way I have planed to use mine is like a journal, a entry every day, where I can make simple layouts and paint. I just have to say it´s a good thing that this book has that elastic band around them...
I hope you like it and check out the video HERE

Beauty -layout
Finally Friday! The layout is not really what you would call "Julia-style" but I so like it! So I decided to try out something new. Started whit just a white cardstock and paint. I wanted that clean-messy look with an edge. So I want to town with my metal thing and copper embossing-powder.
I mixed some prima gears and some round things from my grandpas tool box.
Love this Prima lamp, the dark teal and copper works great together.
I did some journaling (!) on pieces on masking tape, you can´t really read it but I like it.

Make-over a shoebox
The other day my brother bought new Nike shoes and as someone with true scraper-mania, I took the box!
Of with his head!!... or in this case the lid.
Paint the boxes white!!, especially the edges.
Pretty papers and what kind of project wold this be if it didn´t have book-pages?!
The book-pages are on the inside to keep the flaps down and make it more... Better
Add some cute stuff
By now you all know that I love pearls and I have a hole box of this tiny, in ones so I glued them on one by one. That took a bit of time but lets call in therapy and then I´m a multitask-er.
Butterfly out of grunge board with a pen nib.
This shoe-box is the perfect size for 6*6 pads, 2 fit next to each other and then I have a 8*8 in the back and ATC size in the front.
I´m so happy how perfect this turned out! At lest Nike can make really good boxes ;)
Love Julia
