Make-over a shoebox

The other day my brother bought new Nike shoes and as someone with true scraper-mania, I took the box!
Of with his head!!... or in this case the lid.
Paint the boxes white!!, especially the edges.
Pretty papers and what kind of project wold this be if it didn´t have book-pages?!
The book-pages are on the inside to keep the flaps down and make it more... Better
 Add some cute stuff
By now you all know that I love pearls and I have a hole box of this tiny, in ones so I glued them on one by one. That took a bit of time but lets call in therapy and then I´m a multitask-er.
Butterfly out of grunge board with a pen nib.
This shoe-box is the perfect size for 6*6 pads, 2 fit next to each other and then I have a 8*8 in the back and ATC size in  the front.
I´m so happy how perfect this turned out! At lest Nike can make really good boxes ;)

5 ways to makeover resins

Making resins are so much fun and finding new ways to color them! Check out my post on how I make resins using the mod podge mold:  Here.

But today Is all about what to do with them when they are finished.

 1. Glitter glue
 2. Mists with glimmer
 3. Nailpolish
 4. Acrylic paint
 5. Pearlpaint
As I said before, I have tried with embossing but the resin melts before the powder thous. But that can be because that my heat gun is a industrial and not for crafting...

Flower makeover! -gold

It´s Monday and as you know that´s flower makeover time. This flowers has had a love affair with some gold paint. The dabber is perfect for "dusting" on the paint. But if the color you want to use don´t have a dabber you can use a hard brush, makeup sponge or your finger. Give it a try with different paints, crackle paint and glitters.

Magnolia & flower makeover

This Saturday I doped off my little brother at his tennis class and deiced to pop in to Magnolia to pass the time. When I got there I was a bit surprised that the store was filled with people and it was not even 10 o`clock.  Only I could forget something as the Magnolia Day, but no one elas had. So I took some papers and four stamps that was 10% off. I totlaly missed that it was 50% off on thiere flowers, well well.

But today it´s Monday and that is flower makeover time. So today is a easy but very cute technique that is perfect for spring and fall flowers.

So the steps is flower, glitter glue, pipe the edges. Done!
For the fall flowers I like to use gold to get that golden fall feeling. For spring or winter, I go for the colder colors, like the ones that are clear with blue/green/lilac glitter. If you want the hole flower to get glittered, put it on the center on the petal and smear it out with your finger.
Have a great start of the week

Photobox

Photos, we have them everywhere and this weekend I decided to put my foot down and organize my photos. I had this old white box that I sprayed with gold spry. The sides I put on paper from the circus collection from Panduro. On the front I cut out the little ballerina and added a dymo.  The lied has now a paper from magnolia. This box could be decorated to perfection and maybe I will but for now you can see how I store my photos.

Now I can easily see all of my photos, they are categorized under categories like: horses, cats, school and holidays. The dividers are just a bit bigger then the photos and are easy to cut and to make more off. Now this photos are from the past years but is you have a hole lifetime of photos you can have more boxes, one for each year or maybe one for holidays, one for the family and one for the pets. This is now a gold box filed with golden moments.

Flower makeover monday

Paper flowers we have allot of them but some times we want them to match and all we can find are flowers like this. Some with prints and in all different colors. So what would you use? I´m going to use nail polish, some may say I obsessed with nail polish but I not, I think... I have just enough. Lets get started.

The darker color I just painted with once but the grey I had to do almost three coats. When the flowers has a darker color you either take a dark color or start with exempel white as a base. The best thing is that you can layer colors and glitter polish as many times as you want and the flowers will only get stronger.  Try it out and tell my what you think.

Flower makeover

It´s flower makeover Monday! Today's technique I call the glass flower effect. To do this you will need:

Paper flowers
clear stamp pad, or one with glue
embossing powder with glitter
UTEE- ultra thick embossing enamel

Start out with covering the flower with the clear stamping pad, I use this small Versa Mark, but their is allot of different brands that you can use from.

The first powder is the one with glitter, heat is up and then drop the flower in the UTEE. If you´re not so sure on the step, let the flower cool and go over it with the stamp pad again and drop it in the UTEE. (I pore the UTEE in a bigger container, this way it´s really easy just to put the hole flower in and give it a shack.) The UTEE step I repeated 3 times with really gave the flower that glass effect.

The thing is that after all the cotes with embossing the paper becomes see though and they really looks like glass.

Here you can you see how the before and after, flowers.

Hope you like it

Flower makeover

Today I´m going to go through how I did the flowers that are on the "Britta & Julia" http://juliakallen.blogspot.se/2013/09/scrapbookpage-britta-julia.html,

I started with a flower (well obviously) ( www.pyhobby.se ) that just has color on the edges, witch makes them really easy to color.

So now I cut of the stem so I can take out the pistils.

Like this. Now there is just two paper flowers.

When I color flowers like this (with green in the middle.) I start with spraying with a light color glimmer mist or similar, or water if you don´t wan´t the sparkly. When the flower no longer is dry i take and dip a green color in the middle. Because the flower is wet the green will move out and will not look so stark.

And this is how it looks on the layout.
