Suntherapy 12x12 scrapbook using Heidi Swapp & Maggie Holmes

Do you document the little big stuff? What makes you feel better or worse, what makes you happy and smile? I have put more thought in to my pages this year, partly because I see scrapbooking as a form of therapy. I sit down, thinking about what's important and what will I want to know in 5 years. What can I learn from where I am now, what makes me feel better.
One thing that makes me feel better, is lying out in the sun... with a blanket
(I live in Sweden where sun is not the same as warmth)

I had gone through this page many times before I started so when I sat down I had a clear vision of what I wanted. Mind I'm not good following instructions even my own...
I know I wanted a big title, cut out, backed with pattered paper and stitched around.
Cutting out a big title by hand in a brush font is not for the faint of heart and then stitching around...
I love it but yes, it took allot of time and yes, I will do it again!
With a big title I wanted too keep the pages light and soft, small black and white photos, typed journaling on vellum and the same flowers as from the title backing. I added iridescent sequins to ad to the lightness and springy colors.
The page is about how good it is for me to be out, lying in the sun. My mom took these photos of me when W decided that she too needed some sun-therapy. It was a beautiful day, almost warm with singing birds, butterflies and bumblebees in the flowers. All of this I wanted on the page...
The new line from Maggie Holmes "Bloom" has a sticker sheet with a bird, a butterfly and a bumblebee. Perfect for my page. I love how this page came together, the big title, the cute photos an the story I wanted to tell.

Project Life w 45

Week 45 and I did not have a plan. I did the title card but the rest, no idea. And that is how it is for many others. I tend to think about what card or paper I want to use during the week but not this week.
Here is my title card I made in the Rhonna Design App, witch by the way is my favorite app... after instagram.  I love the colors and the gold frame.
The 3x4 cards was a bit of an challenge to fix. But in the end I picked a November calender, a brush filler card and a journaling card from Good Times value pack
Wiola is a big part of my life sense I can´t do much. My back and head have been worse this week but having her makes me smile and that makes such a big different.  ...O and ice cream!

Have a great week, I have some videos planed from my art journal that I hope that you will like

Project Life week 39

Hello!

For this week for Project Life I choose the We R "Indian Summer" paper pack. I love the patterns and colors, not the mention the texture that is just... best! So in this pack not only do you get 4 of each double sided papers you get a sheet of stickers and 3 tags. Now I hardly ever use tags but I wanted to try to work one of them in to this week.

I had to have a nature photo but I had no room for one, but thanks to this extra pockets from sn@p I got I place for my sunrise and space for journaling. Also I got to use one of the tags for journaling to the photo on the right (of the horse) The only thing I can say badly about the extra pockets is when it´s pair with this pocket page design. On the left there is a 12x2 pocket and sens the opening is so long every time you open the extra pocket you´ll open that long space. I think that I´ll try to sew it down... when my machine is working
Some of the photos from my phone I took for a dance in the Rhonna Design app . Those photos got a "chalk-board" frame and text in the same feel. The title card is made in this app with the same elements and I just love the way you can combine papers and digital elements to get a harmonious layout.
For my journaling card (where the camera went to sleep) I cut a 4x6 piece and layered a yellow and the feather paper on top for more interest and a place for a title (the date) I then started to wright around the photo of Frasse & Sack. I love how it turned out. The seconed 3x4 card didn´t make it in the video either but it was really simple. The border is from the sticker sheet and I just lay down some masking tape to wright on.

Cover your photo

Happy weekend everyone!

Today I have a layout to share with you. I really like it but something went really wrong and now I just... hugh! Any way I can start of with telling you what I do like about it. I was so inspired by this video by luv2scrapinva and the way she made here own paper with just paper-strips! So I thought that is a great way to use up some scraps, witch is good sens I´m on a mission to do just that!

So I cut up paper into 1cm strips and started gluing (I made some 4*6 and 3*4 card too) But it was a bit to bright so I did a white wash and some modeling past. I wanted the colors to go together with the colors in the photo. And after adding all of the white it got so much better!
I wanted that pink-ish color so I took out a 4*4 card that I had made in the rhonna deisgn app. The journaling (I have journaling!) I just wrote on a white piece of paper and put it over. I used some black lace washi tape to "frame" in and the some red pearls, they are more like a red-orange color. I like the black and red with the pastel colors, maybe tring that again....
And here is where it went wrong... I just had to have some black ink splatter and didn´t cover my photo... And sure enough I got ink on my photo and when I tried to whip it away it only got worse...
So now the photo that had such lovely colors now looks really dirty and some of it came of so I have a white spec on my forehead.
On the hole I like the fresh feel of it and that it´s not so matchy with the black, red and the pastel colors. I am happy with it and next time I will cover my photo!!!
