Borås Zoo

So I got a bit impulsive yesterday and asked my friend if she wanted to go with my to the zoo. And she did. So we did. ha ha ha. Well any how it was a really nice day with beautiful weather and we got to see all of the animals even the wolfs. If you ever are in Sweden then Borås Zoo is a most to visit, and I don´t just say this because I grew up i Borås and been in the zoo more times then I can count. It´s a really good place for the animals and they are treated really well. And they have a baby elephant now!

The photo for day 8 will hopefully come up tomorrow, my computer didn´t let me upload more then this photo. So two for tomorrow and in till then...

Day 7 is fruit:

Just thought I would show you my hair for today. Sens I have rater long and thick hair I like to find new ways to wear up. Just so you know I have 4 bobby pins in. 4! The basics of it is really simple, make a french braid around your head and when you run out of hair keep braiding as usually and then pin the braid down along side the french braid. Super easy and looks quite cute.

Day 6

day 5

It´s day 5 and here is todays pic, "from a high angle". And as you can see the pretty dog is of course our very own Kerstin.

Here in Sweden we had mothers day today witch meant we first eat a calm breakfast with my mom, then we went to my dads mom for 11" coffee and then dinner at my moms mom. Allot of moms here. But I was nice to see them with out all of my family. don´t get me wrong here, I love my crazy family but on my dads side they are four brothers and they all have a wife/ girlfriends and there are nine children, me included. So you can see how it´s nice to meet with my grandmother with just me, my brother and my parents. My other grandmother on the other hand is not just to that type of family gathering because she only have two "children" my mom and my aunt.

So now it´s nine o'clock and I´m beat. Think I´m just going to read a little about horse feed and go to bed.  Tomorrow me and my old roommates are going back to school to practice a bit more before the big test on Tuesday. And don´t forget tomorrows pic is "from a low angle" ;)

Day 3

So today has been a bit of a moth full, in a good way. First I went to my old school to practise a bit before the horse grooming test. This is Bohun and as you can see he looks extra beautiful today ;) . I just did some basic grooming, like the kind you do before a show. And then I did some lunging. Overall it went great and I´m glad I took the time to go back.
And there we have the photo of the day witch is clouds. I think it´s rather self explanatory...

And there we have a page out of my new smash book.

But the best part of the day was that we have had a new baby calf. It´s quit amazing that someday start out just as a normal day and end with so much more....

Day 2

So it´s day 2 of the 30 day photo challenge. Today is "what I wore today". So after have discovered that I´m really bad at taking pictures of myself I decided to that a different approach. I think it looks quite fun.
Another fun thing is that I´ve got a smash book from http://www.pandurohobby.co.uk/Catalogue/30-Paper-Rubber-Stamps/3030-Paper/303044-Kits/1/512009-Starter-kit-Art-Journaling. But I´ve just got the book, the pink one here is my first page. Just some watercolor crayons and white acrylic paint and volá.

Jewlery chest

I got this two small chests and I thought I make them into jewelry chests. The smaller one will be for the rings and the bigger for other stuff. This is how they look when bought and when I painted them I unscrewed the hinges and lock thing so they don´t get paint on them.

The big one here I painted with a lilac pinkish color and then white. Then I sanded it down so the pink showed through. The lid I painted some small flowers for decor.

Now to the small one. this one is painted just like the frame I did here:   just that I had pink on top. Here I did some flowers to on the lid and than I gone over them with a pearl pen/ glue.

Inside I put some fabric and stopping so the rings will sit right.

Cute vintage looking frame

Hello everyone today I though I would shear with you how I re-painted an old frame. I got this frame from my grand mother cause she never used it. I though that I would try Panduros crackle glaze. (found it in English for you here: http://www.pandurohobby.co.uk/Catalogue/20-Painting-Drawing/2080-Varnish/208010-Crackle-Glaze/1/990690-Crackle-glaze-50-ml )

So I started with painting the frame with a lilac/ pinkish color. This is the color the will show though the cracks.

Then when the paint is dry I go over the frame with the crackle glaze. This is going to dry for two hours.

After the two hours paint with another color. I took a white one. The paint has to be an water based acrylic. To remember is that the crackle will start right away so don´t go over the same area more than once if you can.

I´m really happy with the end result and here I just put in some pic I´ve on this board http://pinterest.com/juliakallen/petz/ .

Pizza rolls

So I´m just out of school and ready for the world! Well almost. I have decided to go for a road trip, where I end up I´m not really sure of. But I thing I know is you get hungry of adventures so I have made pizza rolls to take with me. This is like the best of both world, they are rolls and pizza! And so good. the recipe I found here: http://www.kokaihop.se/recept/pizza-bullar but it´s i Swedish so I have translated it i google to you here:

HOW TO DO IT:
1. The dough is mixed with advantage in the assistant. Ketchup can be exchanged with chili sauce or tomato puree or maybe a little of each.
2nd Melt the butter and add the milk, heat to 37 degrees.
3rd Crumble the yeast in the bowl and the way degspadet, salt and sugar. Stir to melt the yeast.
4. Add the egg and about. 13 cups flour (I used 750 gr + 0.5 cups to utbaket). Working together to form a smooth dough. Add the row. more flour.
5th Let rise for 30 minutes.
6. Chop the ham or bacon into small pieces, mix spices.
7. Knead the dough a little and divide it into two parts.
8. Roll out into a rectangle 1/2 inch thick.
9. In every part wide at 1 cup ketchup, but leave approx. 1 cm with no ketchup on the long side, (so that the roll stick together later).
10th Sprinkle half of the filling on each rectangle, the ham with spices and cheese (save some cheese for garnish).
11. Roll up like a Swiss roll.
12. Turn on the oven to 225 degrees.
13. Cut the roll into 2-2.5 cm thick slices and place on a plate.
14. Let rise for 15-20 minutes.
15. Brush with beaten egg.
16. Sprinkle some cheese on the buns as garnish.
17. Bake in the oven for approx. 8-12 minutes.
18. Served warm but is also good cold.
19. Can be frozen.

I had cheers, ham and mushrooms and some feta cheese in and some pizza spices. And the best thing is that you can eat them for breakfast or just a snack.

Hope you give it a try

Graduation

Graduation, what we all are waiting for. Three years I have been reading about the horses anatomy, physiology and horsemanship. For three years I have lived with the same two girls and I now see them more as sisters, annoying sisters, but sisters no less.
I don´t know how it works in your country but here in Sweden we have hats and on my it says my name and on the other side of the little round thing it says my orientation, "Hästhållning"= Horsekeeping. The green ribbon and round thingy is for the school witch is a Natural Resource school. And after we have jumped out we have to go home i style, I got to ride with my awesome aunt in her blue VW beetle called little Blue. And he even had pink bows! And as this is not enough the parents print up big signs of baby pictures. This can be really embarrassing for some, but lucky me, all of the embarrassing pictures of me was to dark to print up... he he.
Any how this is in short how it is here. For some it´s bigger then others and for me... I sort of was in a hase that day. The day before I had such a stomachache that I could hardly breath and therefor didn´t get allot of sleep.
On the day I just walked behind my friends and hope for the best.

That is my experience, hope yours was or will be better.

We where at a place called Valland, i think, the food was really good but after that it just was not fun any more... The music was way to loud and I was i allot o pain, as usally. But it was really fun to see all of my friends looking good and well clean... They are farmers, showering is not at the top of thire list of to do:s... he he.
Any way, I hope your prom was or gonna be memorable, in a good way.
